The Netherlands
Exchange is limited to
secondary schools. The
Dutch have some bilingual
schools (Dutch/English or
Dutch/French). All subjects
are taught in French or
English, similar to Canada’s
French immersion program.
However, a basic knowledge
of Dutch is still required.
Since few Canadian teachers
meet this requirement, the
Dutch exchange authorities
will only recruit for a match
for a Canadian teacher, when
we can supply them with the
details on a Canadian applicant. Therefore, it is essential that an application be received by the CEEF office very early in the fall.
